\"\"The African Energy Commission (AFREC)<\/a> is a specialised energy agency of the African Union Commission (AUC)<\/a> under the Department of Infrastructure and Energy<\/a>. AFREC is mandated to develop and implement African energy programmes by\u00a0coordinating, harmonising, protect, conserve, develop, promote rational exploitation, commercialization and integration of energy resources for all AU Member states on the continent.<\/p>\n

Les fonctions de l'AFREC garantissent que ses activit\u00e9s sont en phase avec le d\u00e9veloppement et la transformation futurs du secteur \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique africain, en \u00e9tablissant une cartographie du d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, en encourageant la recherche, en fournissant un renforcement des capacit\u00e9s et un renforcement technique, en mobilisant des ressources et en \u00e9tablissant les m\u00e9canismes n\u00e9cessaires li\u00e9s \u00e0 l'exploitation et \u00e0 l'utilisation.<\/p>\n

L'AFREC est \u00e9galement charg\u00e9e de concevoir, de cr\u00e9er et de mettre en place la base de donn\u00e9es continentale sur l'\u00e9nergie, et de faciliter la diffusion rapide des informations entre les \u00c9tats membres de l'UA, les communaut\u00e9s \u00e9conomiques r\u00e9gionales en Afrique, les investisseurs, entre autres.<\/p>\n

Strat\u00e9gie<\/strong><\/p>\n

En ce qui concerne le traitement des questions \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques fondamentales, le mandat de l'AFREC est mis en \u0153uvre \u00e0 travers six (6) principaux programmes\/domaines th\u00e9matiques qui font partie de sa nouvelle strat\u00e9gie, \u00e0 savoir :<\/p>\n

  1. Le syst\u00e8me d'information \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique africain ( SIEA )<\/li>\n
  2. La bio\u00e9nergie<\/li>\n
  3. L\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique en Afrique<\/li>\n
  4. Le p\u00e9trole et le gaz<\/li>\n
  5. La transition \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique<\/li>\n
  6. Le renforcement des capacit\u00e9s<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u00c9nergie pour l'Afrique<\/strong><\/p>\n

    L'AFREC a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e en juillet 2001 par la d\u00e9cision167(XXXVII) de l'Organisation de l'unit\u00e9 africaine (OUA), aujourd'hui Commission de l'Union africaine (CUA), en vertu d'une convention. La Convention est entr\u00e9e en vigueur le 13 d\u00e9cembre 2006 et a \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement lanc\u00e9e en f\u00e9vrier 2008. En juillet 2019, 35 \u00c9tats membres avaient ratifi\u00e9 la Convention. L'AFREC encourage les \u00c9tats membres \u00e0 poursuivre la ratification de la convention et le d\u00e9p\u00f4t de ses instruments.<\/p>\n
